The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations

The McClendon Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and has been since 1999. The mission of the Joint Commission is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations. The Center, because of its belief in that mission, voluntarily pursued the Joint Commission accreditation process through an initial application in 1999. The Center successfully received its initial accreditation in 1999 as a behavioral health care provider. Since that 1999 accreditation, the Center has consistently challenged itself to maintain Joint Commission performance standards in the delivery of its behavioral health care services. Through subsequent Joint Commission surveys, the Center has routinely demonstrated its commitment to the maintenance of Joint Commission compliance standards by successfully being granted three-year periods of accreditation renewal in 2002, 2005 and 2008. For contact purposes, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' main telephone number is (630) 792 – 5000, and its website is www.jointcommission.org.
