The cost of providing mental and behavioral health services and the personnel required proportional to the number of people served. While a majority of our revenue is gained through Medicaid reimbursement, the rate only covers approximately $.85 to every dollar it costs us to provide psychiatric treatment and support services. Other services, such as meals, home visits, Metro assistance, and so on, are are not eligible for reimbursement. To close the gap between District funding and the resources needed to sustain and expand our services, we are pursuing support from private foundations, individuals and corporate sponsorships. In a addition, we are continuing to explore new programs, services (such as Counseling at Dupont) and partnerships that can reduce our general operating costs.
